Rex Kelman is the main protagonist of City of Blank.
Appearance[]

Rex has platinum blonde, spiky hair that is always messy and is often seen in a little ponytail. He has fair skin, with patches of blank space, like on his hands and torso. He wears a white shirt covered by a purple and black jacket, with black pants and grey shorts over them, as well as purple sneakers and black-and-white gloves. His mask is a hard, full-face purple mask with three crosses on it. The bottom has teeth and opens at his mouth so he can eat. Rex has purple eyes. As a half blank, Rex was stated to look like a purple grape, similar to other blanks, but with solidity.

Season 1[]
Rex is normally happy and lighthearted, not really caring about whatever happens to him. He usually depends on others for help, as he lived a very sheltered life. He has shown to be very caring to those he's close to, like Shnee, Desmond and Lyss. He does not care much for his own safety or well being, as long as those he cares for are safe. He carries a great burden from his brother's death, and the goal to carry on his mission, which causes him to be quiet and serious at times. He was willing to sacrifice himself for Desmond's sake, and threw a brick at the mutant dog to protect Shnee.
He's also shown to dislike the way humans act towards blanks. He doesn't like the idea of a blank being referred as "it".

Abilities[]
As a Red Blank, he can touch blanks. He can also control blank space and manifest a large faceless blank. Rex does not know how to use these abilities, but his split personality does.

Mikiah Kelman[]
Rex and Mikiah had a very close relationship. Although Rex was born a half-blank, Mikiah treated him as an equal and cared for him. He never treated Rex as a lesser being like others might have, and Rex was grateful for this. They lived together throughout their childhood, and learned to communicate properly through sign language. When they were older, Mikiah went on an expedition to the jungle to solve the mystery about Rex's ability to touch faceless blanks. Rex protested this, saying that he was content with the way things were, but Mikiah insisted. Even after six months had passed, Rex still evidently carries the weight and guilt of his brother's death. And although Mikiah was charged with murder of Jericho, Rex whole-heartedly believes Mikiah to be innocent, defending him to Desmond confidently. Mikiah often wrote to Rex when he was on his trip, so

Rex and Lyss are good friends, though their viewpoints on blanks are polar opposites. Rex believes in the innocence of blanks, and wants to protect them, while Lyss wants to either turn in blanks or "burn them with fire," possibly due to a supposedly traumatizing event mentioned in the series. Rex and Lyss maintain a good friendship, despite the fact that Lyss is oblivious to the fact that two blanks are living with her. She protects Rex from being kicked out of the house by Desmond, threatening to kick him out in turn.
In Season 2, they are shown to cooperate very well, as they helped each other to pass the Blank Hunter exams, and coming out with a plan to hunt down Charlie Mathers.
In Season 3, they are shown to be more closer, to the point Lyss revealing her face to Rex.
Desmond Grey[]
Desmond and Rex are somewhat frenemies, bickering often about small things but genuinely caring about each other. They felt a closer bond after discovering that they are both blanks, and talk freely to each other about the struggles of being a developing blank and sympathy towards them. Rex likes to rely on Desmond to do everything around the house, which bothers Desmond to no end, but Rex is grateful for his and Lyss' help and friendship.

- Rex was originally named Rexerse in the Canvas version of City of Blank. 66 revealed that they changed Rex's name after someone mentioned Roblox roleplay forums have better names. 66 stated that they have never received such an insult in their life and remains affected by the comment to this day.[1]
- Rex is ambidextrous.
- 66 stated that Rex would have inherited Vallory's black hair color[2] and Derek's hairstyle if born human.[3]
- 66 has stated that Rex's favorite flavor of ice-cream, as well favorite food, is mint chocolate chip as stated in a twitch stream.
- For his birthday, he received a mint chocolate chip cake.
- His second favorite food is chocolate chip cookies, but this is likely Mikiah's tastes according to 66.
- 66 stated that Rex is asexual, but his color scheme is coincidental.
- Rex is very good at trivia. He grew up with nothing to do much other than watching TV.
- He was homeschooled by both Aunt Lauro and his mother.
- 66 said in a tweet that Rex's fursona would be a grey husky.
